Final Project... Dun, dada DAAA!

Here is the background music that i created to go to a colgate commercial. It's a simple chord progression for the most part, with a few moments to break it up,but not even complicated with extra instruments. however, the fun part came when I started adding the dubbing- all of the vocal lines you hear are done by myself. they are a little rough, especially the dubbing coordination of the uncle sam, but this came out well. I had more difficiulty doing that little "teehee" bit, but that's mostly because my voice doesn't normally go that high. the rocket ship and "boing" sounds i found off of the internet. but, this makes for an interesting listen even if you don't see the video, so i hope that you enjoy this.

For the last time- Ciao! And enjoy your summer :)

chord is better than string

A 1-4-5 progression. i wasn't sure how to start out, so i ended up just goofing around until i happened upon this goofy bass line with the funky sounding bass. then the song builds from there, adding additional parts and a drum line, all keeping the same chord progression (except for the drums, of course). i threw in an automation for the volume, and an actual ending at the end. it's just a collective chord thing, but hey, it sounds pretty good, if a little sudden. hope you enjoy this. :)

Synth Project

While i was tinkering with the synthesizer for this project, i ended up making this kinda fluty sound, and it made me think of an ocarina, and then i went with that to refine it and make this cover of the lost woods theme from the "Legend of Zelda" series. The ocarina is a high tension sine wave, i believe, with some "noise" put in to give it a windy sound. the second synth sound that i needed for my project is the background sound that i made. it is to sounds overlapping, one a bent saw wave and i think the other is a triangle wave. i added the filters to taste, and put them through some FX. The envelopes were ok, though i had to redo them after i had been messing with the preset ones. so, after making the two sounds, i added some preset sounds to flesh out the rest of the song- the tambourine sounding thing, a drum sound, and a bass sound that comes in later. Anyway, i really hope you like this song, 'cause i put a lot of work into getting the song right, and i really like what came out. this may be my favorite project so far :)

Automation set

This one i don't like quite as much. i couldn't get any good ideas, so i just added automations to tempo and volume. the music had a chop put to some beeps and guitar with a background effect of vocals- or are the vocals and beeps switched in that? oh well. any how, though this isn't a project that i am particularly fond of, i hope that you enjoy it to some degree. ciao.

Crazy FX

This is the fourth project. I made the song first, and then i added the effects, and some of them are pretty crazy. There was this fruity love phaser that i appled to the clap sound, and it doesnt even sound much like a clap anymore, but it's really cool. then i added some reverb to the snare, and a delay to the vocal bit at the end. that part was a bit more troublesome, having to figure out the timing of the delay and all. Then, liking what i had, i brought the tempo up really high, and it was CRAZY!!!... but really cool. i hope you like it too. Peace out, and enjoy.

The return of the Third Project!!!! (and all the better for it)

The first version of this didn't sound as good after a few more listens, and especially after seeing those other posts. so, i reworked it. I didn't change the background, but i did add a "pulse"- a kick drum line that sounds like a pulse. I also added a second melody bit that had a background piano. I think that this sounds kind of like the trance is in your head. which is often where a trance is, so that works for me. I think this sounds much better, and i hope that you agree.

Project the Third- Chop and Transpose

This project called for taking a long sustained note and putting it through the chopper, then transposing it for another pattern. i originally did this with a chorus sound, but it sounded really annoying in the high parts. the main body worked, though, so i looked and found a nice violin sound that fit much more smoothly. I looked around for sounds to augment it, and found a type of orion string sound that at first just sounded cool, but i ended up making a really nice melody line with it. at this point, i wanted a background sound, so i hunted down a couple of piano sounds, and eventually chose the ELEPIANO. it fit the sound, i fixed the tempo, and Voila! this is the end result, one of my favorites so far.
